A few of you might remember I posted a photo on Flickr when I was working on a new location tracker based on Google Latitude. As an avid Dopplr user I was always interested in technology capable of tracking individual person's location. In the meantime I finished working on this tracker, but was always kinda uncertain if I wanted my location being published to my website automatically. Now I decided - just do it. If I feel someone's observing or tracking me down it's quickly disabled and switched off again. For many off you this might be super scary, anyway I feel I need to pioneer this one now.
Attached below are two screenshots. One of the regular website, the other of the 'locate' layer, as I call it. Pretending to be on a trip from Berlin to Hamburg, I captured what it would look like. The app is constantly refreshing with my most recent location, the trace gets deleted over time.
So, stalkers, if you feel like tracking me down, at least say hello and invite me to a coffee if you 'accidentally' stumble in my way. I'd appreciate you doing so...
